Again another useful, and practical gift that everyone can use and appreciate. These mini flashlights boast a 1200 lumen when adjusted to that range. Thrown in a car or 72 hour kit, you can’t go wrong with practical when you are looking for gift ideas for an entire ward, or organization.

I know, I know… I’m practical. I’m not a big fan of giving something just to give it, so I like to find gifts that can be thoughtful through their practicality and usefulness. These water filter straws are AWESOME for bug out bags or 72 hour kits, and are often overlooked. The price point on these are WONDERFUL compared to the name brand filter straws. Though less expensive in comparison, their filter still boasts an impressive 600 liter lifespan!

Another fun gift idea I have loved to give for Father’s Day is a root beer float kit. Can’t be just any rootbeer though… Needs to be in a glass bottle, and the smaller the company the better haha. In case you didn’t know I’m a root beer connoisseur… and the ice cream needs to be premium.
If you are looking to give these in bulk and keep it under the 5$ mark, hit your local Costco. Typically, around Father’s Day they will start to carry Dad’s root beer. (Passes my taste test ?) Pair a bottle of this with a single serving cup of ice cream wrapped in a cellophane bag, and you’ve got yourself a crowd pleaser!
As much as I am for giving practical gifts, I also LOVE to shop small. Last year for Mother’s Day we gave a 32oz Drink Gift Card from the local drink shop to every women in our church! It was a HIT! This is one of those one size fits all, especially when the drink shops menu offered everything from flavored water to soda pop, there was something for everyone! You can read more about this idea here. (Free Printable Included)
Consider supporting a small shop like a bakery or drink shop when you are considering a treat as a gift idea!
If you do go the treat route, consider throwing on one of these FREE printables to make it extra special. The is SO powerful and is perfect to give to ANY man that has taken on such a sacred role of fatherhood, biological or not. Which is something I think is important to consider on holidays like this.
Father is the noblest title a man can be given. It is more than a biological role. It signifies a patriarch, a leader, an exemplar, a confidant, a teacher, a hero, a friend, and, ultimately, a perfect being.

This was another fun idea, but it’s closer to the 10$ mark. Like root beer I am also a Lemonade connoisseur… It comes when Lemon is a family name! ? Did you know you can buy Chick Fila lemonade by the GALLON. This is a gift that is thoughtful and fun, but won’t break the bank when trying to give a gift to all the wonderful father’s in your life.

These belts were a game changer for my husband. The ratchet style below allows them to size it exactly where they need without dealing the the belt holes…etc. They come in a variety of colors, sizes and lengths. Since wearing these, this is the only type of belt my husband will wear.

Father’s Day Gift Ideas Over $100
I genuinely only have one suggestion for this category… A few years back we invested in a pellet grill, and it has been one of the best purchases to date. My husband discovered that he LOVES grilling, not just your typical BBQ, but like the throw something on the smoker for days at a time type of grilling… This new found love brought many delicious dinners, most I didn’t have to lift a finger for ? Though they look big and scary they are actually REALLY simple to use and most can be programmed from your phone. Think of it as a big manly crock pot. As long as you have pellets, and a temperature probe to check the internal temperature of the meat so you know when to pull it off… you’re good!
We decided to go with a RECTEC, and I would recommend one to anyone and everyone..
However, Traeger is another great option, with a recognizable name, and will be slightly less expensive.
We purchased the largest model, and on days when we are doing meat in bulk and vegetables…etc we fill up the space pretty quickly.

My Favorite Father’s Day Activities
Father’s Day Tie & Questionnaire:
I had a lot of requests to create a Father’s day gift that could be completed during primary or school and given to their dads, papas, or special guys as a gift! The original idea like most things around here grew, and grew until it became something pretty special.
With a FREE version available, I hope all your SPECIAL guys, have a SPECIAL tie to wear come Father’s Day!
What makes this tie so fun is that you can actually add multiple sibling questionnaires, or additional pages to a single tie. The free version includes 6 different ready-to-go templates to pick from including the nice plaid version shown in the video below, as well as a coloring page version the kids can have a lot of fun with! The free version also includes questionnaire templates for DAD, PAPA, and HEROS. ***Please be mindful as you consider your students and their situations as holidays like these can be especially tough. Free version is a PDF Download.
The paid version of this activity is SO much fun! The paid version gives you your own copy of the templates in Google Slides. This will allow you to EDIT all of the text, including the questionnaires. You will also have over 10 ready made tie patterns to pick from, they really are all so lovely, from camo, and floral, to additional coloring page patterns. The paid version also includes two additional pages that can be added to the tie to take the questions more in depth, or allow older kids or students to write more of a paragraph style letter to their special guy.
My FAVORITE part about the paid version however, is the CUSTOM tie pins. These cute little digital tie pins allow you to quickly and easily add your OWN pictures inside! Place your pictures in the tie pins (However many you need) Then place the tie pins on your tie, edit the text if needed, then print and enjoy! I thought this put such a fun spin on this printable activity and truly makes it something to be treasured and enjoyed for years to come!
You can snag all of this for only $3.99
If you end up doing either, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take pictures and tag me on instagram or Facebook! You can even post it to our private facebook group! Seeing you use and enjoy my products is the BEST and means SO much!

Father’s Day Gift Booklet
Both FREE Printable, and paid DIGITAL version that is completely editable!
This is another fun activity, that makes a GREAT gift for kids to give to that special guy! This booklet is especially age appropriate for your older kiddos! Oddly enough the inspiration for this booklet came when I discovered a word search wall hanging that was meant to be placed in the bathroom to keep your guest’s minds occupied. I loved it.
I even sketched out a little poem that’s included in both versions of the booklet to illustrate my vision for this sweet little book. The poem is completely editable through the digital version. The poem is for personal use only:
I made a little book for you.
To thank you for the things you do.
From your example, and your deeds.
To the thoughtful words you plant as seeds.
I’ve been watching all the things you do,
In hopes of becoming just like you.
As I grow, I hope to be,
The person inside that you can see.
Place this book on the shelf, or even the loo,
Your nightstand, your bag, just somewhere in view.
It’s filled with love, and jokes, and fun.
My thanks to you, for all you’ve done!
This little booklet was made for light, enjoyable reading. I also really love the digital version to give kids the opportunity to try their hand at a little digital design. They will be able to experiment with layout options, design aesthetics, inserting images, flipping text-boxes…etc. For me, there is great satisfaction in creating something on a screen, then bringing it to life with a printer. My hope is that your kids will fill that same sense of creative fulfillment, and have a sense of pride in the gift they have prepared for a loved one.
***An important note that I want to point out. Though this booklet is made for Father’s Day, we as teachers know better than most that not every child has the same situation as their peers. Relationships with a father may be strained, non-existent, or filled in by someone else. This booklet never mentions the word father, or dad. Simply, this book is for someone, anyone that has taken on that role. Someone whom the student looks up to, admires and aspires to be like. This is a great way to celebrate the great men, in that kid’s life.
I also wanted to add little snippets to this booklet that would encourage a stronger relationship between the person creating the booklet and to the receiver of the booklet.
You will notice in the videos there is a page where the student can celebrate the favorite thing they were ever taught by this person, and then describe something they would like that person to teach them. My hope is of course this will lead to a wonderful experience between the two. Father or not, when a child expresses a wish for you to share an area of expertise with them, there is a need to teach, bond, and develop.
The last page also includes a section where students can write questions they would like to know about the receiver of the gift. My hope of course with this is that wonderful, and meaningful conversations will be had! Make sure to encourage questions that can’t be answered with a simple yes or no, or teach students to ask for an explanation behind an answer.
Aside from those pages, there’s also a fun word search puzzle the students can design and fill with character traits based on the receiver of the booklet. As well as favorite things maze that can be customized to the person, and a memory | picture page, an acrostic poem or list set up. However, my personal favorite is the “Dad Joke,” Page. The perfect place to put a favorite punny joke, or silly riddle.
Check out a couple of these zingers I came across while putting this together… Some are so bad they are good 😀 Remember “Dad Jokes,” are typically the jokes that make you roll your eyes, or are filled with a classic pun. If you know me… Puns are a love language!
- Why did the baby strawberry cry?
- Because its dad was in a jam.
- Two fathers and two sons go fishing together in the same boat. They all catch a fish but the total catch for the day is three fish. How is this possible?
- There are three men: A grandfather, a father (the grandfather’s son) and the father’s son.
- What lies at the bottom of the ocean and twitches?
- A nervous wreck.
- How much money does a pirate pay for corn?
- A buccaneer.
- Why did the scarecrow win an award?
- Because he was outstanding in his field.
- Did you hear about the restaurant on the moon?
- Great food, no atmosphere.
- What do you call a fake noodle?
- An Impasta.
- How many apples grow on a tree?
- All of them.
- Want to hear a joke about paper?
- Never mind it’s tearable.
Ok, Ok, Ok…..
I’ll stop. Hope you enjoyed these as much as I did.
