If you have not used sensory images in your classroom…. I highly recommend them. This is easily one of my favorite graphic organizers. Sensory images are AWESOME for book reports, character analysis, social studies, Interactive notebooks, and even a get to know you! Sensory images give students an opportunity to discuss a “subject” on a much deeper level. They must make inferences about the character, what does the character think, say, smell, see, taste, hear, feel, fear, hope…etc the possibilities really are endless. I have found that my students are able to connect to characters and understand characters more fully after completing a sensory image.
