Description
Students list 5 separate facts found and cited from the assigned reading, and 5 opinions that deal with the assigned topic. Opinions relevant to the main idea but not found in the text may also be expressed. Students also cite evidence. On the following page, cut out the fact vs. opinion strips, as well as the foldable pocket templates. Students then assemble and glue the pocket to this second page or page in their interactive notebook, and finish the activity with the reflections questions.
Informational Texts and Non-Fiction Reading should be FUN! This activity provides just that! Students will be engaged in this effective lesson.
