FREE GIFT with purchase! To show my appreciation this Informational Text Response sheet now includes a fun Dice Response game that can be used in conjunction with this sheet after your students complete the non-fiction reading!
Both of these tools are intended to be used again, and again, and again! Teachers have suggested using these with Time for Kids or Scholastic News in centers or rotations. Others have left them as a meaningful and effective activity to be completed with a substitute. How do you plan to use them in your classroom?

This is a wonderful tool that works with any type of informational or non-fiction text. This resource is Common Core aligned and was created for upper grades. Students are scaffolded through this response sheet. Students must complete a pre-read where they state what the article will be about, what they think they already know about the topic to activate their schema. Students then must identify the big idea and it’s supporting details. As well as complete a text feature scavenger hunt, identify the author’s purpose…etc and more! I plan to use this response sheet with brochures that the student’s pick. I love using brochures in my classroom I think they are a fun and FREE way to diversify informational texts in the classroom. Let me know how you plan to use the response sheet! I love your feedback!
