2. Digital: Me in A Bag Activity:
Students will insert 3 items “into” their bags and give a brief video explanation or typed explanation behind the significance of each one! This template is so cool because it looks like the items are actually IN the bag. Depending on how you set up the assignment students cans can cover their clues or video and their classmates will interact with the slides and guess who the bag belongs to by guessing through the comments before revealing who created the bag. You can also have students share their bags during a Zoom Call! Share as small groups in a breakout room, or have 2-3 students share their paper bag slides each morning as a morning meeting!
I LOVE how this one turned out!

Each one fit to a different type of personality. These technically all could be printed, however, I have also included an ink-friendly PRINTABLE version.

4. Digital: One Word Classroom Collaborative Quilt and Bulletin Board:
This one… like all the others… turned out really COOL. Put on your seatbelt as I try and find the words to accurately describe how cool this little digital activity is! The One Word Collaborative quilt begins with students selecting a One Word Resolution or Goal they would like to focus on for the new term, of the coming school year. Students can select from a list of words, or use a fun Digital word search to decide! Students then complete a word work page to better understand the meaning of their word, and brainstorm scenarios and steps to bringing their word to life.
Once their word has been selected students will pick from 1 of the 4 EASY to use templates to create a digital illustration of their word. Students can also complete the Figurative language page where they explain why they selected the pictures that symbolize their word.
This illustrated “piece” will then become their part of a COLLABORATIVE Class Poster or Quilt as I like to refer to it! The coolest part about this Digital Quilt is that it can be printed off along with the kit I’ve included to create an ACTUAL Bulletin Board for your classroom, OR you can save the Digital Quilt along with my editable templates to create a DIGITAL bulletin board (using the student’s work) that you can insert into your VIRTUAL Classrooms!
The templates I’ve created allow students to simply use a place holder for the image meaning they won’t need to worry about croppings or sizing their pictures to fit the slide! SO EASY AND FUN! This product was created in Google Slides and can easily be edited or assigned in Google Classroom or other digital learning platforms.

4. Digital: Who’s in My Corner (A Virtual Spin on the Popular 4 Corners Back to School Game)
This one is a lot of fun. I think my favorite part about this activity is that the students are able to create the questions they ask their classmates instead of using a pre-created list. It’s also taken a step further because students can then interact with their classmate’s slides and questions, making this such a fun way to form connections & build classroom community. This activity is perfect for your traditional of virtual classroom!
If using as a traditional Four Corners Get to Know you Game, Students will create a slide with a question of their choice (I’ve included examples to help students brainstorm). You can then project the slides in your classroom and students will move to the corners of the room to show their response.
If using as a strictly digital product, students will create a game piece and an “In My Corner” Slide. Students will use their game piece to show their response to each question by where they place it on the slide! Such a fun way to interact and connect digitally.
You can assign this as a collaborative slide and have students interact and comment with each other. Have students present their slide with a brief explanation of their question and a brief defense of their response. This can be done in the classroom or over a Zoom Call or Google Meet. Students can even meet as a small group in a breakout room during a zoom call with their other classmates that answered the same as they did! No matter what type of classroom setting you are teaching in, this activity integrates seamlessly.
Instead of having students answer and interact with the slides all in one sitting, it’s also a fun idea to use one a day to start your day! Perfect little Morning Meeting Extension.
