Description

This is an original piece. The inspiration for it came while searching for a book, or poem that described the need to come together in the classroom despite differences. I needed something to create a sense of belonging. After coming up short handed, I decided to try and create the piece I was searching for.  The process was very therapeutic, the words seemed to come from a place that I had been holding on to, and pondering on for a while. This felt more personal to share than I imagined it would, but I think the message is so desperately needed today.

• Consider printing this piece on canvas, most local print shops can do this at an affordable rate.

• If you are interested in the large 18 x 24 print, consider an engineering print at Staples. Most local print shops charge 10-15$ for a print this size at Staples you can do a B&W Engineer print for less than 3$ or COLOR for less that 6$ ?

To lift another and unite

In common cause to make things bright.

 

More Bright

 

Everyone is an expert in different ways,

If not our world would be dull and gray.

Passing judgement out of fright,

Causes only divide and inspires spite.

 

Less Spite

 

Each color we celebrate, peculiar, unique.

Each persons a person, that’s enough don’t you think.

Nothing compares, not a more beautiful sight,

Than learning and lifting, creating pure light.

 

More Light

 

Here you belong, here it is right.

Here we press forward with all of our might.

Together we advance, our potential our aim,

Individuals amid a masterpiece, together we exclaim,

 

In humanity’s name we are less different than we are the same.
