Description
This Halloween Writing Project is such a fun addition to any classroom. My students are always blown away by their poem created at the end of the unit. This project can be done during one class-time, or stretched out. This project is such a fun way to review figurative language like metaphors, similes, hyperbole, alliteration, personification, onomatopoeia, and idioms. Students define each term and give an example of the type of speech in a super fun bat themed “flap” book. Students also review parts of speech such as adjectives, nouns, and verbs in their tri-fold Halloween word bank.
